INTRODUCTION |
Richard Fuentes is a 4th-year undergraduate student at San Diego State University pursuing a major in interdisciplinary studies, with a specialization in biology, psychology, and communications.
Richard plans to further his involvement in treatment and research by pursuing training programs in the fields of psychiatry, neuroscience, and or psychotherapy to adequately prepare for a career in psychedelic-assisted therapies. His research interests include the expansive neuroscience of altered states of consciousness and the potential clinical applications of various psychoactive substances along with tailoring.
Realizing the injustices of policy and legislation, Richard constantly seeks opportunities to advocate for: reasonable drug policy shifting from punitive measures towards treatment-centered strategies, improved mental health care, sustainable and ecocentric policy, and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged youth.
In his free time, Richard likes to reconnect with his primal self by exploring the wilderness and reminding himself of his connection with nature.
