Opioids and Ibogaine: A Doctor’s Trip

Opioids and Ibogaine: A Doctor’s Trip
After nearly 20 years of practicing medicine, I realized I had to walk away or die. I was suffering from long-standing depression, chronic pain, and suicidal ideation. The western medical model was not providing any relief or comfort. It was exacerbating my symptoms and contributing to an opioid addiction. I was living a life without a soul. I left my practice in search of the root cause of my underlying mental health issues – something not taught in my medical training. To find spiritual healing, I turned to Eastern philosophy. I began to understand the complex trauma of my childhood and long-held false and limiting beliefs about myself. I also discovered a unique path to recovery without rehab. This book shares my life story, as well as my hard-won lessons about addiction and recovery.
What you will learn from reading my book
- A unique psychedelic, Ibogaine, can be used in the appropriate therapeutic setting to significantly shorten withdrawal symptoms and alleviate post-withdrawal syndrome for a variety of addictions. I used it to free myself from the grip of opioids.
- How adverse childhood experiences can lead to a variety of risky behaviors, the use of mind-altering substances to self-soothe, and a decrease in overall lifetime health.
- Anyone, despite their socioeconomic status, can be affected by mental illness and substance abuse. Addiction is any behavior to avoid the pain of the present moment.
- Yoga, Buddhism, and meditation can support a life free from pharmaceutical or street drugs.
- Traditional rehab is not always necessary, and it is often not successful.
