Nervous System & Psilocybin
Psilocybin can support nervous system regulation by softening the protective strategies we have developed to survive.
When we experience trauma, the body often learns to live in patterns of control, vigilance, suppression, tension, or emotional bracing. During ceremony, these defenses may temporarily relax, creating space for unresolved grief, fear, emotion, memory, and truth to move through awareness.
In a grounded and well-held ceremonial container, people often reconnect with experiences of safety, belonging, awe, love, and connection that may have felt unavailable for years — sometimes a lifetime.
The healing is not simply in the medicine itself. It is in the combination of the medicine, the ceremony, the relationship, and the body’s innate capacity to heal. As the nervous system experiences greater safety, it can begin to release what has been held and remember that it no longer needs to remain armored against life.
Preparation. Ceremony. Integration.
All three matter.
On July 21, I will be offering a free live Zoom workshop exploring trauma, the nervous system, and why psilocybin can be a helpful ally in the healing process.
Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
