An Ode to the Plant Kingdom by Dr Andrew Maclean Pagon
I saw an Amazon leaf kissing the ground,
I felt Gravity’s graceful and tender bound,
It whispered ancient tales of emerald seas,
Where each and every fall is a flight that frees.
I heard the Amazon brook’s melodious, enchanting sound,
In silver ribbons, it skilfully wound around,
A beautiful symphony beneath the radiating sun,
In very nature’s heart, where all is always One.
I touched the bark of the ancient Amazon tree,
It’s textured old stories, a living tapestry,
It stood through myriad storms and seasons’ dance,
In each and every ring, a second chance.
I smelled the fragrance of blooming majestic Amazon flowers,
Their very perfumed breath of sunlit hours,
A mosaic of hues in very gentle sway,
Nature’s palette in truly braw, brilliant display.
I tasted the Amazon air after springtime wet rain,
The mother earth’s sweet nectar, the simple, plain,
A droplet’s journey from infinite sky to tongue,
The taste of life, forever young.
I felt the warmth of the Amazon golden light,
As day gave way to the velvet night,
Stars above in awesome celestial bloom,
Infinite gardens beyond one’s gloom.
I saw the moon’s serene unreserved embrace,
A gentle touch upon Mother Earth’s face,
A silver guardian in the infinite sky,
Watching life’s ebb and flow endlessly go by.
In each and every moment, immense beauty thrives,
In each and every corner,
true wonder strives,
One is always the witnesses of time’s creations,
In the grand tapestry of beautiful life’s vibrations.
