IBOGAINE, DURING AN OPIOID EPIDEMIC COULD SAVE THOUSANDS OF LIVES, LIKE PENICILLIN DURING WORLD WAR II.
"American and British ingenuity together soon turned penicillin from an obscure research project into a mass-produced here-and-now means of saving lives." -History.com
BUT ITS NOT.
Iboga has been misclassified since 1970 as a Schedule One Drug with no medical benefit, even though it actually works to interrupt opioid addiction, often in a single treatment, with few or no withdrawals. As a result of its legal status insurance won’t cover this procedure and those who do hear of it can only get access to ibogaine if they can come up with thousands of dollars plus travel costs to visit one of the many offshore clinics in Mexico and elsewhere. Our documentary Iboga Saves will follow four such patients through their ibogaine treatment and critical post-integration process.

Archetypal Phases of Transformation with special guest Dr. Suzy Ross, All About Ibogaine, Jul 23, Replay
Dr. Suzy Ross explores why a psychedelic experience is not the same as completed transformation and what must happen after treatment for change to become embodied in daily life. Drawing on her dissertation, more than 20 years of findings, and her book The Map to Wholeness, Dr. Ross will explain the Figure-8 Model, a 13-phase framework that maps transformation before, during, and long after psychedelic treatment. She will distinguish personal, epistemic, and systemic change; describe integration as part of a broader biopsychospiritual identity transformation; and show how a person’s position in the Figure-8 may help practitioners anticipate treatment dynamics, integration needs, and the likely time required for completion.

Cultural Appropriation is a Small Idea
Ultimately, cultural appropriation is a small idea that fails to grasp the grand scope of human evolution. It is an artificial boundary designed to keep humanity fragmented. True progress does not come from building walls around traditions, but from honoring the global tapestry woven by our shared history. When we adopt a practice, a symbol, or a flavor from another culture, we are not diminishing it; we are acknowledging its universal value. As conscious beings, our task is to reject the politics of division and celebrate our fundamental oneness. By sharing our expressions of art, beauty, and wisdom, we don’t dilute our roots—we grow together from the very same tree.
