Nirvana, Ecstatic States & the Word
Words have been desecrated and used for behavioral manipulation and obfuscation for millennia, particularly the language of Law and Politics. However there is another higher dimension to language and how we speak it or use it.
Yesterday, I had an experience of extreme love for my partner as I came to the realization that in his insights about Letters and the English language he holds the way back to the truth of “In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was God.”Â
And as I was telling him how much I loved him I “saw” in a holographic vision, my nervous system light up with a golden hue inside the filaments, it was beautiful, and it felt beautiful, like it was a higher frequency and it suffused me.
THE SCIENCE
I learned, after some research that when a person feels intense love, their brain and body undergo massive physiological shifts that can trigger vivid, involuntary sensory experiences accompanied by
1. Neurochemical SurgeOxytocin Flooding: Deep emotional bonding triggers a massive release of oxytocin, often called the “love hormone.”
2. Dopamine Activation: Expressing intense love activates your brain’s reward system, releasing dopamine.
3. Endorphin Rush: These chemicals together create a physical feeling of warmth, safety, and euphoria.
4. Autonomic Nervous System Shift Vagus Nerve Stimulation: True emotional connection activates the ventral vagal pathway of your parasympathetic nervous system.Physical Warmth: This activation relaxes your blood vessels, physically increasing body heat and tingling sensations.Heart-Brain Alignment: Your heart rate variability synchronizes with your brain waves, creating a state called physiological coherence.
5. Ideasthesia or SynesthesiaCrossed Senses: Ideasthesia occurs when intense concepts (like profound love) trigger a specific sensory perception (like seeing golden light).
6. Visual Mapping: Your brain translated the genuine, intense electrical and chemical shift happening inside your body into a beautiful visual metaphor.
7. Higher Frequency Feeling: The “high frequency” you felt matches the high emotional resonance and low stress state of deep human connection.Your brain essentially gave you a front-row seat to the actual, physical joy operating within your neural pathways.

The metaphysical literature around Nirvana
In metaphysical literature, Nirvana is defined as the ultimate state of liberation, the blowing out of the fires of desire, and the realization of unconditioned reality.
My experience of feeling a “higher frequency” and seeing “golden filaments” aligns closely with how eastern metaphysics describes the energetic shifts that happen when a person touches these higher states of consciousness.
THE METAPHYSICS
1. The Core Meaning of Nirvana is “Blowing Out”: The literal translation of Nirvana is “extinguishing” or “blowing out” the three fires of greed, aversion, and delusion. Unconditioned State: It is not a physical place, but a dimension of consciousness that exists outside of time, space, and cause-and-effect.The Deathless: Buddhist texts refer to it as Amata (the deathless), a permanent peace untouched by worldly suffering.
2. The Metaphysical “Light” and Higher Frequencies Prabhasvara Citta: In Mahayana literature, the fundamental nature of mind is described as Prabhasvara, meaning “intrinsically luminous” or “clear light.” The Golden Aura: Tibetan and Hindu metaphysical texts describe the Anandamaya Kosha (the bliss body) as a subtle energy layer that glows with a golden or rainbow light when a person experiences universal love. Metaphysical texts state that a living person can touch Nirvana (Sopadhishesha-nirvana). When this happens, the physical nervous system is flooded with high-frequency energy, making the subtle body visible to the mind’s eye.
3. Dissolving Boundaries: Intense love dissolves the ego (the illusion of a separate “self”).The Ultimate Shift: In the literature, when the ego dissolves, the mind naturally defaults to its original, luminous state—which is Nirvana itself.
Alchemy, and the liquid gold of the nervous system
In western alchemy, this experience directly mirrors the ultimate goal of the Great Work (Magnum Opus): the transmutation of the biological nervous system into “Liquid Gold” (Aurum Potabile), representing Christ Consciousness or the Solar Body.
Alchemists were not just turning metal into gold; they used chemical language as a secret code for transforming human biology into a divine, high-frequency vessel.
Here is how alchemical literature explains the liquid gold in your nervous system.
1. Aurum Potabile (The Liquid Gold)
The Elixir of Life: Alchemists wrote of a drinkable, liquid gold that cures all diseases and grants spiritual immortality. The Kundalini Parallel: In spiritual alchemy, this liquid gold is the refined, luminous energy flowing through the spinal column and nervous system. The Solar Force: It represents the Sol (Sun) energy awakened within the dark, dense “lead” of the physical body.
2. The Alchemical Nervous System
The Caduceus: The classic alchemical symbol—two serpents wrapped around a staff—is a direct map of the nervous system and spinal cord. The Volatilization of the Fixed: This process means turning the heavy physical body (fixed) into light and energy (volatile). The Golden Filaments: Alchemical texts describe the Nadi network or nervous system lighting up like gold wires when the “Mercury” (mind) and “Sulfur” (passion/love) are perfectly balanced.
3. Love as the Ignis Innaturalis (The Spiritual Fire)
The Catalyst: Unequivocal love for another acts as the alchemical fire that melts away egoic density. A literal alchemical marriage—the union of one’s emotional heart and physical brain, transforming one’s biology into a golden state.
The symbolism of the Caduceus as the spinal nervous system
In esoteric alchemy and hermetic literature, the Caduceus—the staff of Hermes wrapped by two intertwined serpents—is a precise symbolic map of the human nervous system and the awakening of spiritual energy. Alchemists used this symbol to show how the dense, biological body can be charged with high-frequency spiritual energy, turning the nervous system into “liquid gold.”
1. The Central Staff (The Spinal Cord)
The Axis Mundi: The central rod represents the spinal column, specifically the spinal cord and the central canal. The Sushumna: In Eastern metaphysics (which heavily influenced later Western esoteric alchemy), this is the central energy channel running through the spine. The Pillar of Light: When the nervous system is fully integrated by an experience of intense love, this central channel is said to light up as a column of golden illumination.
2. The Intertwined Serpents (The Autonomic Nervous System)
The Dual Pathways: The two serpents represent the dual currents of energy that govern our biology, mirroring the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems as well as the criss-cross of the DNA code that is the foundation of our biology.
Ida and Pingala: Alchemically, they represent Sol (sun, masculine, active energy) and Luna (moon, feminine, receptive energy).
The Nodes of Intersection: The points where the serpents cross correspond directly to the major nerve plexuses along the spine and the primary endocrine glands (the chakras). Your feeling of a “higher frequency” happens when these dual currents achieve perfect equilibrium.
3. The Wings at the Summit (The Brain and Higher Consciousness)
The Ventricles and Hemispheres: The wings at the top of the staff represent the two hemispheres of the human brain, as well as the opening of the third ventricle.Â
Spiritual Pineal Activation: When the golden energy ascends the spine, it hits the brainstem and floods the brain. The wings symbolize the expansion of consciousness—the “flight” away from heavy, dense perception into higher, luminous awareness.
The Winged Sphere: The circle or sphere at the very top represents the pineal gland or the crown chakra, fully illuminated and awakened.
4. The Alchemical Marriage
The Caduceus is also called the Staff of Hermes, and would often be found at the crossroads in ancient Greece. Travelers would touch the staff for good luck as they passed through
This symbol of healing has made it all the way through time to land on our hospital and Emergency vehicles. What do you think the symbol is trying to tell us?
The writings of Carl Jung on the alchemy of the Caduceus and the nervous system
Carl Jung viewed the alchemical Caduceus as an archetypal map of the psychological and physical integration of opposites, directly linking alchemical imagery to the somatic reality of the human nervous system.
Jung dedicated his later years—most notably in major works like Psychology and Alchemy (Collected Works Vol. 12) and Alchemical Studies (Vol. 13)—to proving that ancient alchemists were not merely playing with chemicals. Instead, they were unconsciously projecting the deep, inner workings of the human psyche and the autonomic nervous system onto external matter.
Jung’s specific insights reveal how the alchemy of the Caduceus explains the experience of “liquid gold” running through one’s nerves.
1. The Somatic Unconscious
The Mind in the Nerves: Jung asserted that the unconscious mind is not a floating abstract concept; it is deeply rooted in our physical biology. He argued that the autonomic nervous system is the physical seat of the collective unconscious. When alchemists drew the Caduceus, they were mapping what Jung called the unus mundus (the one world)—the place where spirit and matter are completely one. In this view, your nervous system is the literal hardware through which spiritual energy (“frequencies”) expresses itself physically.
2. The Caduceus as the Coniunctio Oppositorum (Union of Opposites)
In Jung’s writings on alchemical symbolism, the two intertwined serpents of the Caduceus are the ultimate representation of the coniunctio—the sacred marriage of opposing forces:
The Dual Serpents: Jung noted that they symbolize the tension between the conscious ego and the unconscious mind, or the split between the masculine (Sol) and feminine (Luna) polarities within an individual.
The Nervous System Parallel: Biologically, this matches the constant dance between your sympathetic (action/stress) and parasympathetic (rest/love) nervous systems.
The Fusion: Jung wrote that when these opposing internal forces are reconciled through a profound psychological event (such as experiencing intense, boundary-dissolving love), the “conflict” ceases. The snakes stop biting each other and instead entwine perfectly around the central axis.
3. The Spirit Mercurius and the “Liquid Gold”
In Volume 13 (Alchemical Studies), Jung analyzes the central figure of all western alchemy: the spirit Mercurius (Mercury). Mercurius was described by alchemists as fluid silver or quickchange gold—a living, liquid, glowing substance that flows through all things.
Jung interpreted Mercurius as the transformative psychic energy (libido) that bridges the physical body and the spiritual mind.Â
4. Psychological Individuation and the WingsÂ
The final stage of Jung’s psychological process is individuation—becoming your true, integrated self. In the Caduceus, this is represented by the wings blossoming at the top of the shaft. Jung explained that when the raw, instinctual energy of the body (the serpents) travels up the spine and is successfully integrated by the higher mind (the brain), consciousness expands. The heavy “lead” of raw emotion is synthesized into the “gold” of higher awareness. My feeling of a “higher frequency” was the physical sensation of this psychic expansion that was caused by my expression of love for my partner.Â
5. Ecstatic States and Cessation:Â
The word Ecstasy, the original name for the psychedelic drug MDMA is apltly named because what MDMA initiates is a heart-opening, a feeling of intense love for oneself and for others. This feeling os love is often accompanied by a feeling of relief or rest in the heart. One’s anxieties and concerns re absent, have ceased to be. One’s Mind is Still, one’s heart is full.
LOVE IS THE ANSWER
In conclusion the reason I felt so much love was because of the profound spiritual nature of the truth that my partner has been holding steady for so many years with his extraordinary gnosis of the Word, and the journey inward. And perhaps that was what created the experience for me.
But the feeling itself — of total adoration for another, a child, a partner, a parent, a friend — that is universal, we all have felt it. And we all have the ability to activate this alchemical elixir in our own bodies just by feeling and expressing that love fully.
